Instagram launches in-app scheduling feature for professional accounts

After a few weeks of testing with select users, Instagram has launched an in-app scheduling feature for all professional accounts today.

Professional Instagram accounts can now schedule posting photos or (Reels) directly in the app up to 75 days in advance thanks to the new scheduling post feature.

It is worth noting that Instagram has been allowing to schedule posts through (Creator Studio) since 2020. But this new feature within the application will make it easier to manage content on the go, and the ability to schedule (Rails) in particular can help improve the performance of your content.

According to Instagram, this feature will only be available for professional accounts at this point, although anyone can switch to a professional account in the app through the settings.

Instagram has stated that the feature will appear for professional accounts starting today, so if it doesn't, it will be available to you soon.

You can use the content scheduling feature within Instagram by following these steps:

  •  during the build process; Click on the “Advanced Settings” option.
  • Click on the Schedule this post option, then select the time and date you want to publish.
  • Return to the post and then click on the Schedule option.

You can see scheduled posts in the Scheduled Content section which can be accessed through the settings menu within the application.

This feature is very simple, but eliminates the need to use a separate Creator Studio website or app or third-party services, providing a smoother experience.

Instagram also introduced the Achievements feature in Rails along with the content scheduling feature, where the platform said: “The new feature aims to recognize the efforts made by creators in their Rails.”

Therefore, creators will access achievements related to specific actions when creating Rails, including: collaborating with another creator through the Collabs tool, Add Yours sticker or Remix, as well as the ability to make Rails more interactive with polls or quizzes.

It is worth noting that Instagram announced on November 4, 2022 that it will soon offer a full suite of digital holdings toolkit for creators across the platform, these digital holdings such as: non-fungible tokens (NFTs) designed to help creators make money on the platform. The entire process will happen starting from creating a digital collectible, selling and buying it via Instagram.

Instagram is expanding the types of digital collectibles that can be viewed in a creator account, and will now include videos.
