Meta introduces WhatsApp-specific features that make dealing with businesses simpler

On Thursday, Meta made the announcement that new features for its instant messaging service, WhatsApp, would be available. These new features will allow users to find businesses, converse with them, and make purchases only through conversations.

The new move is made by the American tech giant in an effort to grow its presence in e-commerce and take advantage of WhatsApp's huge popularity—it now has more than two billion active users per month as of the beginning of 2020.

In a blog post, Meta stated, "Today, we're sharing with you an update on what we're working on to help users find a business, message them, and buy something from them through WhatsApp."

Additionally, the company stated that WhatsApp's millions of small businesses and tens of thousands of brands necessitate a method for users to locate the businesses they seek.

Users can now search for businesses by name or by category, such as travel or exchange, on Meta today. The objective is to freed clients of the need to find telephone numbers on sites, or quest for a business in their contact records.

Since what users are searching for is handled in a manner that prevents users from linking their accounts to any commercial establishment, the company confirmed that it had developed the feature of searching for commercial establishments in a manner that safeguards the privacy of users.
Meta said that it will start rolling out the new feature in Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Colombia, the United Kingdom, and other countries where WhatsApp Business Platform users can find businesses.

The company stated that some of the businesses that joined WhatsApp recently assist users in opening bank accounts, purchasing train tickets, and placing food orders.

Meta also stated that it had recently launched this feature in India because it wants users to be able to use their credit cards to make secure payments in WhatsApp conversations.Additionally, the business has begun testing it in Brazil.

Meta accepts this consistent installment experience will be a distinct advantage for organizations and individuals hoping to trade inside WhatsApp without going to a site, open another application, or pay face to face.
