Report: Musk may make all of Twitter a paid service

According to a brand-new Platformer report, the new Twitter owner, Elon Musk, has investigated the possibility of charging for the entire social media platform.

The platformer stated that the plan's seriousness was unclear and that the move, if carried out, "doesn't seem imminent."However, at the same time, it demonstrates that Musk, the world's richest man at the moment, is evaluating every avenue for generating additional revenue for the platform he purchased for the enormous amount of $44 billion.

And because Musk is still under the financial pressures resulting from the deal, especially since 13 billion of the deal’s value is debts that it has to pay off to investors, he is accelerating the pace to increase the company’s revenues in light of the sharp decline in revenues, which he attributed to the advertisers’ cessation of advertising on the platform.

Mask and Twitter are in crisis

And to get rid of the financial burdens as well, last Friday, Musk laid off about half of Twitter’s employees, or about 3,700 employees, and said at the time: that he was forced to do so, given that the company loses about 4 million dollars a day.

On Saturday, Twitter announced that it will launch a program that will enable subscribers to its paid service, Twitter Blue, to get that mark on their personal accounts for a payment of $7.99 per month.

"It's a power for the general public," Musk said of the new feature in his tweet. "Your account will get a blue verification mark, just like the celebrities, companies and politicians you follow," he added.

But many Twitter users and employees have raised concerns that the paid blue verification tokens may cause confusion ahead of the midterm elections in the United States of America, because it makes it easier for any user to make their account unique, as if it were an official entity, and then spread false information about the election results, which could cause seductive.

After a report in the New York Times that the launch of this feature was delayed until after the end of the elections scheduled for Tuesday, the manager working on the blue mark project responded by saying, "We have decided to postpone the launch to November 9, after the elections."

Musk and his advisors also discuss different ways to make money from Twitter. In addition to the blue verification mark, they talked about the possibility of charging for private messages that users can send to high profile users, and charging for watching some videos. They also discussed the possibility of reviving the short video app, Vine.
