WhatsApp starts launching the community feature for everyone with other important features

Today, Thursday, the instant messaging service WhatsApp announced the global launch of the Communities feature, which it revealed earlier this year.

"As we announced earlier this year, we've worked hard to build Communities, which is a major update on the future of people's ability to connect via WhatsApp in groups that matter to them," Meta-branded WhatsApp said in a blog post.

Today, we are pleased to announce that we have started rolling out communities on WhatsApp globally, which will be available to everyone over the next few months.

WhatsApp said that communities such as neighborhoods, parents in schools, and workplaces can now link multiple groups together under one umbrella to organize group chats on WhatsApp.

To get started with the new feature, users have to tap the new communities tab at the top of chats on Android, and at the bottom on iOS. From there they can create a new community, or add existing groups.

Once a user enters a community, they can easily switch between available groups to get the information they need at the right time, and administrators can send important updates to everyone in the community.

WhatsApp indicated that it aims from these communities to improve how organizations communicate, with a level of privacy and security found nowhere else. She added that currently available alternatives require trusted apps or software companies that have a copy of the messages, and we believe they deserve the higher level of security provided by "end-to-end" encryption.

In addition to the Communities feature, WhatsApp announced the launch of three other features: the ability to create polls in chats, increasing the number of people who can join video group conversations to 32 people, and increasing the number of users who can join groups to 1024 people.

WhatsApp noted that it has worked with more than 50 organizations in 15 countries to develop the Communities feature, with the aim of meeting the needs.

It is also worth noting that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new features in a video he posted on his Facebook account, where he said: “Communities make groups better by enabling subgroups, multiple threads, and advertising channels. , and more. We're also posting polls, and making 32-person video calls as well. Everything is secured with "end-to-end" encryption so your messages stay private.

Users can download the WhatsApp application for Android through the Google Play Store, and for iOS through the Apple App Store. The application can also be downloaded for other mobile and desktop devices through its official website.
